Jean-Claude's early career began in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Trained as a mechanic he was a vehicle technician in the RCAF working on any vehicle that had wheels or a track. After three years of service and a honourary discharge, Jean-Claude went to work in the private sector as a mechanic. After experiencing a workplace injury that crushed his right hand Jean-Claude changed professions and became a real estate agent in Montreal. Although he enjoyed sales, Jean-Claude longed for his former career.
Jean-Claude's relationship with the RV Industry all started in 1988, over 30 years ago! He saw an opportunity for a position in a related industry and profession. So Jean-Claude applied for the position of Service Manager at a Montreal based RV Dealer - Alco Sports. The owner of Alco Sports recognized Jean-Claude's abilities right away and hired him immediately. During the Montreal RV Show the Alco Sports' sales team needed some assistance and Jean-Claude was immediately successful.
Jean-Claude wanted to test out his RV sales skills as a full-time sales person so he joined Caravane Bourassa as a Retail RV Sales Representative. Once again Jean-Claude was successful and he was promoted to Sales Manager within a mere two years.
In 1992 Leisure Travel Vans, a manufacturer of Class B Motorhomes located in Manitoba came knocking on his door. They too recognized Jean-Claude's sales abilities and offered him a position as a Factory Sales Representative. Jean-Claude became the Eastern Canada and North East U.S. Sales Representative for Leisure Travel Vans and he would be with them for the next 14 ½ years.
In late 2006 the management of Roadtrek, a Class B motorhome manufacturer located in Kitchener, Ontario approached Jean-Claude to join their team. After much discussion Jean-Claude accepted the position of Regional Sales Manager for Eastern Canada and the North East U.S. In mid 2010 Jean-Claude decided that a change was in order and resigned his position with Roadtrek. He decided to wait and see what fate had in store for him-as it turns out fate contacted him the very next day.
Dean Rumple, President of Pleasure-Way Industries, contacted Jean-Claude and presented an opportunity to him. Pleasure-Way manufactures high-quality Class B Motorhomes and has received the RVDA's Quality Circle award for 2010 and 2011. Jean-Claude approached his new opportunity with caution. This was understandable. He had spent nearly 20 years competing with Pleasure-Way and now he was considering joining them. Mr. Rumple invited Jean-Claude to visit Pleasure-Way's factory in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Jean-Claude inspected Pleasure-Way's manufacturing process and quality controls. After much due diligence Jean-Claude joined Pleasure-Way as their Regional Sales Manager for Eastern Canada including Ontario and the North East U.S. a dealer base very familiar to him.
Jean-Claude invites you to visit him and view our inventory of Pleasure-Way Class B vans during our 50th Anniversary Sales Event.
