Overwhelming Support
Since the fire, we have received a tremendous amount of support for which we are truly thankful. Many have said to us, "It must have been just horrible, I don't know what I would do." As we watched the fire blaze it was without a doubt surreal. The next few days were a torrent of activity and we ran on pure adrenaline. Every member of our team pulled together to make things better. Here's the good news - it does get better each day. We found ourselves being very excited about little successes; things that we just took for granted before the fire. Reflecting back on the nearly 3 months since the fire we consider ourselves to be quite fortunate and our situation has gone, in our estimation, as smooth as possible under the circumstances.
Our 2,500 sq. ft. Storage Facility is under construction and the walls are framed now. The roof trusses will be installed shortly. We now have an artist's rendering of the new Storage Facility that we are happy to share with all of you.
The plans for our new main facility are well underway. We have had meetings with Oro-Medonte officials, our engineers from Gerrits Engineering, the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and our Project Manager, Don Eagles. Our surveys are complete and they have been accepted by the conservation authority, our plans are nearing completion and shortly we will be applying for the appropriate permits.
Within the next couple of weeks I hope to be able to share with you the layout and artist's rendering of our new building. Our goal has always been to incorporate the best of the old building and meld them with improvements to the layout to maximize efficiency, service levels and safety.
Our thanks to the many business owners and managers of the dealerships we have visited to source ideas, input, feedback and suggestions. Also, we thank our colleagues in the RV industry who have continued to call and provide their support as we work through our rebuilding process. To the management and staff of Thor Motor Coach, Newmar, Pleasure Way and Navistar RV we appreciate your cooperation and words of encouragement during this time.
Special thanks to Trish Hanmer of Sarjeant Insurance Brokers Limited for her guidance and valuable advice. We really feel that both Sarjeant Insurance Brokers Limited and Aviva Canada Inc. were on top of the situation from the first hour and both were very forthcoming with support and funding right from day one. In the past we have heard horror stories about other insurance companies when dealing with losses likes ours. Our experience has been diametrically opposite; the insurance support has been incredible thus allowing us to get back on our feet quickly. Thank you again Sarjeant Insurance and Aviva Canada.
